Storgata
Storgata, or “Ankertorget”- as we like to call it, is a central location in the heart of Oslo! The quarter is the oldest of our locations with approx. 800 apartments and has housed many students since the 70’s. When living in Storgata you are close to everything Oslo has to offer right outside your door, but you also have green areas like Akerselva in immediate vicinity. If you cross Eventyrbrua or “The Adventure Bridge”, you will find yourself at the popular student district Grünerløkka with many shops, bars and restaurants. It is a short distance to Karl Johan, Youngstorget and Oslo Central Station.
Storgata is suitable for the urban student whether you live alone, with a friend, is a couple or with family. Anker Studentbolig has in recent years refurbished many apartments in Storgata and from summer 2019, renovations of the largest apartments in our oldest houses will start and be completed during 2020.
Around Ankertorget, you will find several city bike racks that allow you to get to school and work quickly. Torggata, located right next to Ankertorget, has undergone major upgrades in recent years and has become a great walking and cycling route, with shops, bars and restaurants. A short stroll through this street leads you all the way to the main street Karl Johan.
The tram track closest to Ankertorget is Brugata with 11, 12, 13 and 17 trams or Schous plass with tram nr. 11,12 and 13. The nearest bus stop is Jacob’s Kirke which is right next to Ankertorget with bus no. 34 to Tåsen and 54 to Kjelsås. You will also find the Herslebs gate bus stop where 30 Nydalen passes which is 5 min away from Storgata
It is 10 min to walk to Oslo S with even more bus connections, subway to all locations in Oslo and train station.
Ankertorget in Storgata has 800 apartments spread over different buildings, which are referred to as House 2-11.
Studio apartment with shared kitchenette is the only category at Anker Studentbolig that is furnished.

In Storgata you have Oslo right outside your door with everything the city has to offer! In the same buildings as the student apartments there are different businesses as the supermarket Joker, Pharmacies, bakery and several other shops. It’s a 24-hour security located in Storgata in case of any emergency.
Anker STI has three hotels, two of which are located in Storgata. If you have friends and family who are visiting you and it will be too crowded in your apartment, you can accommodate them at one of the hotels! Please contact Anker Hostel or Anker Hotel and hear what they can offer. Remember to state you are a tenant at Anker Studentbolig and your customer number.
At Ankertorget there is one large laundry in House 11, entrance on street level at the back. Read more about the laundry and how to use it.
The lager apartments on the 5th floor (top floor) in House 7, 8, 9 and 10 have the installation for connecting a laundry machine.
Q-Park operates the parking facility at Ankertorget. They offer student prices to our residents if you need long time parking. If you would like to rent a parking space, please contact Q-Park.
When parking in Storgata you must purchase a ticket from the parking meter in the garage/outside Anker Hotel. When moving in / out, you can arrange a temporary parking permit of 2 hours at Anker Studentbolig reception during their openinghours. It’s an Ipad located in the reception where you must fill in your vehicle registration number and phone number. Please note! You can only use the temporarly parkingpermit right outside your house on unmarked parking.
You can find your mailbox at the Joker store in Storgata 97. The mailbox is marked with your house and room number. You can pick up mail at the Joker store’s business hours on weekdays from 08:00 to 00:00 and on weekends: 10:00 to 00:00. In order to receive mail, you must report change of address yourself.
Please note- you don’t need to put your name on the mailbox in front as your name will be added on the backside by Anker Studentbolig.
Unfortunately, there is no storage unit that follows the apartments in Storgata. We have very limited storage units for rent since it’s only 54 units. Contact us by e-mail if you want to be on a waiting list/check the vacancy.
There is both outdoor and indoor bicycle parking. Contact us for access to indoor parking. Bicycles parked on site are under your own responsibility.
