In the middle of Grünerløkka, a stone’s throw from Københavngata 10, you will find Gøteborggata 8 B. The apartments were rebuilt from the old Freia chocolate factory’s office space to 133 beautiful student homes in 2018. Since the building was protected, the design of the rooms is unique and modern, with different types of windows and high ceilings. It is a short distance to Sofienbergparken, Markveien and Olaf Ryes Plass with their bustling folk life. The building itself is quietly located in a side street with little traffic. There are two elevators in the building and a beautiful roof terrace for our tenants.
Above Gøteborggata 8 B is the bus stop Dælenga where the 30 bus to Nydalen passes by. It’s a 5-minute walk to Olaf Ryes Square where you will find the tram stop with 11, 12 and 13 trams. At the Københavngata bus stop, several buses pass by such as the 20, 21 and 28 bus. Carl Berner’s Square is the closest subway station and there are several city bike racks in the area.

Grünerløkka is the most popular neighborhood to stay in for young adults and students because of the thriving cultural life, the many restaurants, shops and bars in the area.

The nearest grocery store to Gøteborggata 8 B is KIWI and Rema 1000, located a few blocks beyond the building. Gøteborggata 8 B is also very close to the Sofienberg Park where a lot happens in the summer and is a natural and popular meeting place for the city’s young students. The park is a great place if you want to be “where it happens” where you can sunbathe, climb the line, use outdoor exercise equipment or barbecue.
It is a short distance to the Oslo College of Art and Westerdals. Grünerløkka offers exciting activities throughout the year, especially popular is “Elvelangs” on the Akerselva where 4400 torches are lit with 140 cultural features to mark the fall and dark season. It offers live music, lighting art and installations that create a totally magical atmosphere.
At Birkelunden there is a Sunday market (second hand market) where you can find good fleas. It’s also farmers travelling to Oslo selling their raw materials, meat and vegetables. Throughout the year it is mini concerts on the Music Day in Oslo and other events that are worth going to, since it’s for free. Best of all- you have a short way home!

Outside Gøteborggata 8B, the municipality of Oslo controls the parking. Most of the parking in the central part of Oslo has become resident parking. Please check how much it costs and how you can register your car here if interested.
Read the signs carefully before parking the car. When moving in / moving out, we recommend that a person look after the car while moving, since you have to carry your belongings through the backyard to get to the entrance.
You can find your mailbox in the main entrance in the 1st floor. To receive mail, you must report change of address to Posten yourself. You must also remember to put your name on the mailbox.
All apartments in Gøteborggata 8B has a storage unit in the basement. Your storage unit is marked with the same number as your room number. Remember that you must bring your own padlock and lock it when moving in. The storage unit must be empty and without the padlock when moving out.
You can park your bicycle in the basement in bike racks. Bicycles parked on site are under your own responsibility.
